Role and Responsibilities To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and should demonstrate the following competencies to consistently perform the essential functions of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Lead and support a team of desk examiners, ensuring the effective processing and settlement of homeowner property and liability claims. Directly handle and adjust property and liability claims, maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency. Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance. Provide guidance and expertise in property and liability claims to team members. Efficiently manage workload distribution within the team to ensure timely claims processing. Serve as a central point of contact for customers, agents, and adjusters, ensuring effective resolution of issues and maintenance of service standards. Facilitate team meetings and training sessions to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Education Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in property and liability insurance claims. Florida Claims Adjuster license, or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire required. In-depth knowledge of insurance policies and claims adjustment procedures. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage claims independently with a high level of detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel. Experience with Xactimate software. Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience and certifications considered in lieu of a degree. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
Physical Demands While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening, and reading, able to lift light objects (<25lbs), and use standard office equipment such as computer, printer, and phone. In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist or stoop to open/close cabinets, reach for files or other standard office type objects.
Work Environment The office environment is generally quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due conversations, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company/department needs, project requirements or customer demands.
